I thought that this receiver was first class. Great Piece of Equipment. This receiver is far more complex than my old Onkyo purchased 15 years ago. Outstanding performer..... I've had this receiver little over 4 months now and have thrown many different things at it. I over thought this purchase... This is a REALLY nice receiver. Onkyo TX-SR876: Good unit! Lots of pros - some cons too. I sold my older TX-SR800 THX Onkyo amplifier and replaced it with this unit mainly for the HDMI interfaces. OH YEAH! This box is a beast.
Onkyo delivers outstanding sound! I finally won the war with my spouse to replace my old A/V receiver. Excellent A/V Receiver. After doing tons of research I decided that this was the best A/V receiver in the $1000 range. Very pleased with this unit. Shipped from OneCall, packaged nicely. Great Receiver. A first class product - have had it for 9 months. The best I have ever heard. I have had the pleasure of owning this tuner, amp, video upconverting beast for about 3 months now. This Receiver is Hot...In every sense. I've been an Onkyo owner for almost 20 years, and sadly, in a recent move, my original Onkyo receiver from around 1990 got dropped and totally destroyed. Great sound while it lasted. Center channel failed after 46 days. I bought this unit (SR 876 B) having read horror stories of 806 and blue dot issues. Onkyo TX-SR876. Ordered this receiver on Monday and it was delivered Tuesday with Free shipping. Works great, incredibly flexible. I bought this unit to replace my separate preamp, HDMI switcher and separate amps. I like it. When I bought my XBox360 and PS3 last year, I started looking for a receiver that could replace my Harmon Kardon and Silicon Image DVDO scaler, with a receiver that had HDMI.
Audio is fantastic, video not as good. I started w/ the Onkyo 706, which sounded ok. Best receiver I've ever owned. Been wanting to upgrade to something that switches multiple HDMI 1. Sound quality is unbeatable. The burr brown dacs make the music come alive. Lightning fast delivery. This receiver was shipped on a Thursday and I received it the very next day. Everything you need right now. I've had this unit for about a month and I replaced a 1994 Pro Logic Onkyo receiver which is still sounding great. Hotest High End AVRec For the Buck. I've had my Onkyo TX-SR876 receiver for about two month now, I just love the Video and Sound it puts out. Onkyo TX-SR876 7.1. Wow, great amp and all of the functionality as described. More features than anything in this price range. If you want power for an price you can't beat than buy this unit. Dummy. Bang for your buck. onkyo has consistently produced exceptional quality receivers.
Worth the time and $$ After many many moons, I finally maxed out the I/O capabilities of my 30 year old Onkyo amp (years ago, I kept hoping it would fail so I could justify getting a new one, but they're built too good). High Expecations, bad delivery. Well, I can't speak to the performance of the receiver. Great Receiver, Great Deal. Let me start off by saying that I'm not really buying into the 2010 receiver lineup. Superb Receiver. After much research, I purchased this HDMI-switching Home Theatre Receiver in February, following recommendation from an independent HT consultant. Stunning!!!! Holy cow!
