It's OK but better off with iPhone. I bought this device as a music player/radio for my 90 minute train commute to work. Horrible audio quality. The features and size of this unit had me really excited. DONT BUY THIS AT ALL!!!! I have an original Pioneer Inno that I love, but it is over 5 years old. Worst Radio Ever ! This has to be the worst radio ever. Great second act of the already great Inno. ** update June 23, 2009 **After some weirdness that started about 3 or 4 days ago (freezing, shutting down, hanging etc - mostly while listening to MP3's on my SDHC class 4 8GB card), my unit began to hang regularly every few songs. An improvement over the excellent Pioneer Inno. The Inno was the best portable xm radio until now. Good Product, But Room for Improvement. I use this product regularly, almost every day during a one-hour walk. Big improvement over MyFi. I have four XM radios in use and decided to replace a MyFi portable unit with the XMP3 when the charging port became a little finicky. Excellent Portable XM Receiver. I have been an XM subscriber since 2004. The buggy-est device I've ever used. I've had this receiver since Nov 08Replaced the battery once but it did not help the battery life.
Nice upgrade from what I was using before. I replaced my Delphi MyFi XM2go Satellite Radio with this radio and the old one just now looks like a boat next to this new sleek Xmp3 from Pioneer. Great features but poor quality control. This XM radio/mp3 player is full of great features and capabilities - sound was good, size made it very portsble, good battery life. Excellent device for jogging! This is the greatest little gadget to jog with I've ever owned. Don't love it, but it suits the purpose. First one I received was defective, but Pioneer replaced it at no charge. Great Product for XM listener's on the go. I love XM/Sirius, so I'm pretty easy to please. My Fifth portable Satellite receiver - Nice Unit. As mentioned in my heading, this is my fifth home/ portable satellite unit, replacing an Inno I have had for nearly 3 years. XM MP3It works beautifully - without. It works beautifully - without an antenna. Should've. I have owned this receiver for 4 months now. Just Great! I'm a gadget freak, and this gadget hits pretty high on my favorite's list. Good&Bad points. Reception on its own antenna something to be desired,but once you hook up the external antenna the radio is a joy.
Pioneer Has Wrecked Its XM Streak. I have owned the Inno and the MyFi before it. Great Satellite Reciever. This is my first satellite radio and it was a great choice. An amazing portable music source. The GEX-mp3 is a significant improvement over the Inno2 I owned previously. Very bad quality. The auto recordings for this never play the entire song. Great little mobile XM player. I've had this for a month or two now and really appreciate all that it can do. The features are great, but it only holds 8GB of MP3s. XM Radio's specifications of the Pioneer radio are not complete. !!WARNING!! Pioneer says Amazon is not an authorized reseller! Just a warning, everyone - call (800)421-1404 and ask the Pioneer support team if they recognize Amazon. Terrible Product. Only worked for about 24 hours. Dead After An Hour. Bought mine tonight on sale from a local retailer that also included the free car kit for $150. A Weak Thumbs-Up ... I was in the market for a new mp3 player for awhile now and was really on the fence about which one I should go with.
A Good Portable Satellite Radio. The unit is performing as I expect for a portable radio. Pioneer hates their customers. I have been talking with their "customer service" people with nothing to show but frustration but now its anger. LOVE THIS BUT............ GREAT RADIO but XM2GO software used to upload and to look up past bookmark artist does not work on VISTA 64 Bit. Completely satisfied. I have been using the GEX-XMP3 for about one month. I bought this with a car kit as well. Poor user interface. I`ve owned this for several months now after owning many MyFis and Roadies. Portable satellite at it's best (so far)! This is only my second XM device which I have owned. Third battery in 10 months! unit is reasonably good, except for battery life, my xmp3 is 10 months old and I'm on my 3rd battery, each one after 3 months will only give me 30 minutes of service, at 29. XM's best portable reciever. Im totally satisfied with Pioneer's XMP3 portable player.
Battery life. Pioneer XMP3 Satellite Radio. LOVE IT! Impressive device...but don't forget the extended warranty! Others have well-written, detailed reviews of this device, so I'll just post summarized comments. This is the sattellite radio unit I've been waiting for. I received this as a gift and I've been very happy with it. DO NOT BUY. This unit is great (as long as it is working). SLIGHTLY DISAPPOINTED. Without going into all the specs of the device, i just want to be on recordwith my criticism of it. Will buy again in a heartbeat if broken. I am extremely happy with this purchase. Loved it, then it died.... I bought this unit in October and loved it, went everywhere with me then a few weeks ago (hooked to the stereo) it just quit. XM. A great combination of XM and MP3 allows you to save a song or all songs by the same artist. Great potential, poor execution. On paper this looks like a fantastic player, and in many ways it comes through.
Pioneer GEX-XMP3: You can't go wrong! I purchased my XMP3 about 4 months ago and absoutely adore it! 3 IN 7 MONTHS. I purchased the Pioneer XMP3 through XM Radio in December of 2008. Current V1.18 firmware, BUGGY. This is my second unit. Love it. Being a music lover, i Have fallen in love with this product far better selections than I anticipated. Good looking, clunky user interface, not really "portable" I have Siruis for the car and first looked at their portable, the Stiletto. Love it.. until it breaks. This is an awesome device. Was Great while it lasted. Had this player since last Christmas. OK Unit. For an XM Radio, it works pretty good. My best gadget by far. I have enjoyed XM for years, almost as long as my TIVO. XMP3 better than ipod, zune,........etc. I am so glad I decided to buy this pioneer product.
XM Satellite Radio Reciever. The first radio receiver was a dud but Amazon took it right back and shipped me out a new one even before receiving the return. AWESOME!!! I have had this little thing for little over a month. A technological marvel, but be wary of merged Sirius/XM service. REVISED 10/21/09 If I could reduce my Amazon rating of this product to one or fewer stars, I would. Be Careful. This is a great product but you should know that once the 30 day return policy that amazon offers expires you are stuck with it. Don't buy. Don't waste your money. Great Radio - But Not Plug & Play. Why did I buy an XM radio, and why now, after they've been on the market for so long? Amazon is not an authorized - there is no warranty. I should have bought a new toaster. At first I liked it's small size and ease of use. A Lemon. I have owned this radio one week and it is now dead. Disappointing unit. The good news is that if you set the XMP3 up to timer record favorite shows, it will come on and record your show even if it's in the car dock. XMP3 expanded review. I bought an Xmp3 player from Amazon about a week ago. Easily my worst purchase ever. I purchased the XMP3 player back in December and have been as patient as possible. The Best XM Radio To Date. I have been an XM subscriber for years. Great Portable XM Player. The XMP3 is my first portable XM satellite radio receiver. Awkward firmware interface, lousy battery. The firmware interface is unrefined compared to the most inexpensive mp3 player. DO NOT BUY. This product does not work - PERIOD. Absolute junk, plus horrible customer service from Pioneer. I purchased this unit last April.
Best XM receiver I've ever had! Only one too, but... First of all, in one of the negative reviews the reviewer said they hated the fade-in and -out between songs in the recorded XM.
